house hunting hurts

The one we previously posted..didn't quite work out. Estimates on updating the rest of the wiring (half of it was still knob-and-tube) were in the $10,000 range. It also had some water damage to the plaster walls and ceilings (in two places). Consider the updating and repairs, it didn't seem like the owners would be coming down from their price enough for us to afford it. We may still offer, but it's on the backburner for now.

We hope to see this one this weekend. It's actually 2 houses down from the other one:The owner just had a C-section though, and the listing expired a week ago. AND they have a renter who is moving in and will be there until January :( (They moved to the West side last year).

We've seen about a dozen now, in person, and driven-by dozens more. Only 3 have been just right... and this is the 3rd. We're going to re-do the internet/driving-around search this next week, and hopefully see a few more soon. Stay tuned!
