new photo website

I've been thinking about a photo website.. and will work on it here-and-there this next year. Here's my rough draft for the front page (I know, the MOTEL sign is backwards.. but I'll fix it :) and the 'liquor' sign will say "PHOTOS", fyi. The top 20% of sky is made in Photoshop. The reflection in the water was tricky - not sure if I like it yet.

The sign is my image, and the Texas roadside image (background) is from an Istock photog. I will probably have text in the lower right and link buttons below the image. I need to figure out what to use for the rest of the pages :( so they 'flow' with this homepage. ..

riding in cars with girls

Good news- Corrie's hip is more stable than it was 2 weeks ago (this hopefully means no cast or whatnot). The ultrasound showed that her hip sockets are still pretty 'shallow', so she has a ways to go. We'll make the trek back down to Nashville on July 19th for another checkup.

Our friends Justin and Shelley had their baby boy- Congrats! Their blog is here..

We'll be up in Indiana for Matt and Cassie's 'open house' and the 4th of July madness - look for more pics and news next week (like moving day/times!)

her 'monthly' bath

Well, it seems that way - with this harness on, she doesn't get baths... but tonight Carrie sat her bottom in the tub. See the video clip.

Headed to Nashville in the morning, and then we'll be out of town Sat.-Wed. for the 4th of July.

If you're planning on helping us move, it'll likely be between July 6 and 10 (I hope). I'll send the specific day/time when we know...

Check out the videoOOOoo of her trying to decide whether to fuss or not; There's a nice yawn in there:

Monday's trip to Vandy

Well, it was a long day Monday.. drove down to Nashville with bad directions (on their website) - turns out it's across the street from Vanderbilt, and we eventually found it. Still waited another hour or two, lol..
Then we got to see this guy:

Dr. Green (hence the tie?) specializes in pediatric hip/leg/foot issues. He was very nice.. Apparently, Corrie's right hip is worse; her left hip is pretty 'stable' and can be dislocated, but only with a good deal of force. She can dislocate her right hip on her own, however, with a lot less force. He adjusted the straps on her harness to further compensate for her right hip joint.

We'll go back for a checkup and ultrasound on Wed., 6/28. Dr. Green says that if her right hip does not become more stable by then, we might have to do something else (like a cast).

old sketch of BP?

So this sketch surfaced after about... 6 years? :) It was done by Holly Hendrix, an old KU friend of ours, whose site is here. Apparently I was playing a lot of basketball then--and thinking about the 'Z (horrorZontal ultimate frisbee team at KU)

night-time w/ Corrie, revised

Friday was a good night :) Her cord fell off, finally (no, we didn't save it in a jar..) Today was rough though - her and Carrie haven't been feeling well :( All weekend Carrie had a fever, and Sunday we went to Urgent Care. She's on antibiotics now.

Mon. morning we went to the pediatrician...and he looks for them to gain back to the birth weight in two weeks. Cora is above that, at 9 lbs. and 12 oz. :) Everything else checked out fine.
Next stop, Vanderbilt orthopaedics on 6/19.

Jazz radio online

Found a great station for classic old-school jazz, based in Long Beach. Go to the middle of the page and play the archived stream "88 Greats" - truly some of the best music ever - or listen to them live.

Going to the doc here in town again Fri. afternoon, for Corrie's hip strap harness thingy :) She calms down to walks outside at night, ,, or the vaccuum cleaner - but not jazz :(
