My CT scan and blood work were clear :)) On Friday's check-up, I had completely forgotten that I had the flu in February! :o I also found out that there are metal 'clips' on the ends of a few blood vessels (formerly attached to the lymph node mass). Doctor Bramham didn't know what kind of metal they are, but she said they wouldn't set off any metal detectors...
I still haven't gained all of the weight back that I started with in 2004, but I have made progress since surgery. The only thing that concerned me about Friday was that the chest Xray noted that my lungs seemed 'emphasemic' ... (even before chemo?) which means they are ballooned/expanded from trapped air; I take in more air that I let out. She could see some bronchial damage (from the past?) and asked if I had any history of emphasema in the family. I think it's either my heavy use of the lungs in athletics, or the 'bleo-' in chemo that affects the lungs. She said it's nothing to worry about, though.
Carrie's checkup went well -- Doc says she might be dialated 1 cm... maybe. Carrie DID notice the baby 'drop' last weekend (a week ago). She can put plates and things on top of her belly! She is going in to the doctor weekly now. I think we shop for a car seat tomorrow :) Otherwise, it's all good. She can tell that the baby is getting locked down in there - no more kicking, but some good pushing around. Carrie is starting to have some back pain.
Matthew Smart (my cousin, Mom's side) came by on his way back home to TN from Louisville on Friday before my appointment ~ it was nice to see him and chat about babies and pregnancy, etc. His wife Sally is due in a few days!
