Her first Band-Aid, at 2 months

She's grown :) She's now 14.5 lbs., a healthy bit above average. She also had 3 shots today - I missed it, but I heard she threw a fit! She's tired, coughing and pretty warm (a low fever is normal), but she should be fine. We go back to Nashville on Aug. 14th...

8 weeks or 2 months??: She was "8 weeks" old this past Monday, but she was born on the 29th (May) and July 29th is still a few days away. I like to say she's two months this past Monday, but technically she'll be two "months" on Saturday. Silly calendar.

ps- Happy Birthday mom Peterson! (Friday)

quiet blogger = back to work-er...

It's been more quiet here on the blogfront because 1) I'm still moving and settling in, 2) I'm back to work (we start training in mid-July and are very busy until Sept.

These are a few shots from our hall director workshop last week...

Corrie sure is getting "talkative"..

...and of course she settles down by the time I get the camera out *murphy's law*..
Corrie has moved past the single-note cry and into a world of goo's gaah's yehh's and oh! or eh! She could mimic the work "okay" pretty well today. She knows when it's her turn to 'talk', but her grunt-to-syllable ratio is still very high ;)

Here's a bit in a video clip (turn up the brightness..)

Dr. Green wears Pink

Corrie and Dr. Green were both wearing pink today :) By now, he can't even dislocate her hip (without breaking something..) so it looks like it's really improved. He had to leave early, so they called us up there before we did the ultrasound. They'll call tomorrow with any 'news'.

She'll keep the pavlic harness for at least the next month, and then we'll go back for another checkup. Corrie's almost getting too big for it!
Just a few snapshots from today:

It's hard to wait for her head to stop bobbling to get a good face :)
I think if you click on the photo, you can see a larger version..
Stay tuned for another video one of these days..

doctors visits for everyone

Carrie and I had our respective doctor visits this last week - both were good. I think it was Carrie's last visit *yay*. My lab work and chest x-ray were clear, and we brought Corrie in to see everyone at the clinic :)

Wed. afternoon we have to take Corrie back to Nashville - hopefully her hips are even better than last time.. soon, she'll be outta those straps and crawling all over! She is getting good at imitating us- she will stick her tongue out (back at us), and seems to know when to 'speak' back..trying to mimic our sounds. She sure did smile a lot today - probably time to get my camera back out.

we moved to Poland

Yes, we moved. Not to Poland the nation, but to Hugh-Poland Hall... where I'll have 2 girls at home and 300+ girls upstairs! :) It's been a crrrazy weekend, but it's all over here at the new pad. Most of it's still in boxes, but we have rooms all set up - just need to unpack and put away. We also have to go back to Bates and clean that apt...

The move was without incident - except for losing our cat. :( He ran off with his tail beneath his legs when we propped the door and started moving. We found him hours later; he was in the crawlspace of the residence hall next door!

I still don't know the phone number yet - and when we try to call off-campus, it goes to the long-distance dial tone (??)... but I'll find it and post it soon.
Stay tuned for a before/after comparison of the old/new apartments, via video.

Corrie made it to church today - first time here in BG. She made it through the whole service and back home before needing food or clean clothes!

I start work again tomorrow; a few weeks of training and preparation before the students get back.

MOVING DAY

It looks like we'll be able to move this weekend!

If anyone can help us move this Saturday, we'll be trying to get our LARGE things moved between 10am and 3pm. We'll have a moving truck (unless they're all taken for this weekend), so we just need a few sets of muscles to help with the piano, bed, chest, bookcase, entertainment center, washer/dryer.

If you can stop by anytime between 10a and 3p, please do :) We'll have a sandwich lunch break in there-- and the World Cup is at 3 or 4p, so we should be fine. I hope we can get it all this weekend!
I'll post our new ph.# later...

Corrie's look outside

Carrie held her close to the glass door today.. I cropped some of the space and resized it. You can keep tabs on extra (non-Istock) galleries at brianpowell.shutterfly.com You can see a new link to it on the sidebar -->

I highly recommend Shutterfly if you need digital prints made!
