Steps 1 and 2 of the wood burning stove/insert






It's a work in progress.  I took off that gaudy paneling from 1954 and took out all of the fireplace stuff. They're trying to install it today!  The 6' wide brick face was a nice surprise, but it's covered in some kind of white paint (smoke sealant?  I dunno) which might be hard to get off with the rough brick surface...  That might be a summer job with all the ventilation req'd.

So after it's installed I'll post a pic or video.   I'll still  need to expose the brick and then re-do the shelving on the sides.  And figure out what to do for a mantel.  Here's a sneak at the stove we got (Jotul 350 'Winterport'):
