Summer VBS

This past week we went to VBS at our church. The girls had a great time and although we are thoroughly exhausted after a long week it was so worth it! Corrie learned about the desert and Israelites and snakes... she got to make playdough... and her favorite friend Nella was there. Mary wasn't quite old enough to go to the big kids part but she would ask to go sing songs with the kids when she heard the music. We were surprised one night to see her doing all the motions... She loves to sing!

We heart VBS!

Petals = Happiness

Last week at Grandma and Grandpa's house, Ollie and Corrie filled up the kiddie pool with petals from a nearby snowball bush.  Happiness followed :)

These two have more fun together...

Girl talk

Some quotes for your enjoyment

(Corrie to mom) "I love your toes just the way they are. Purple, pink, dirty..."

(Mary) "Daddy a-BOSS."
translation, Daddy's the boss.

(Corrie joke) "What did the parrot say to the wire? C'mon, let's make some cages for my friends!"

(Mary holding a biscuit at dinner, making it talk) "Hi! Can you come to my office??"
(Corrie) "Hee, hee. Yeah, sometimes she says that when we're playing and it's kind of awkward."

(Corrie) "I think I sleep-read."

(Corrie looking at her arm) "Mom? I don't know if I'm getting to be a boy with all this hair?!"

Trip to BG

Full.  That's a good word for our trip to Bowling Green this past week.  Full of friends, good food, work :), meaning...

Brian covered a three-day Indian-American wedding ceremony and the girls and I got to hang out with friends and take naps.

Watching the carousel at the mall.

Friends from before, friends again.

Also full of meaning, Brian wanted to be baptized.  The river we had planned on going to was swollen and had a very fast current.  We didn't want to lose anybody :) so we switched it to a nearby church that had a tub.  Thankful for our church family in Kentucky who helped make this happen.

Here Brian is asking to be 'held under' for a while :)  Let the old self really come to mind before being raised to New Life.  I love my husband.

Katie

It was Katie's last week here in Lafayette... last week.  Seems like it was not too long ago she came over to our old apartment for the first time and met Corrie.  Since then we have added Mary,
a few frogs,
many dates for mom and dad,
brown rice flour and potato starch,
wii bowling
and a LOT of good times together.

We shall miss our friend!

Welcome spring

The girls enjoying a nice evening. Watching dad mow the lawn...

Also, every spring it seems, we have a 'river' running down our street. Someone told me it's a natural spring under the road. When it rains a lot like it has been, it runs down our road and along the bigger main road that we live on. The girls and water get along really well :)

Have you ever done this? They send little leaves or sticks down the water and watch. Except Mary, in the video, (always watching her big sister) throws rocks in the stream at first. They don't go anywhere. Then she started putting the little petals from the tree into the water. Mary says, " 'pash!" at the end. The video is a little long but this is what we do, enjoy.
