pay attention, and pay up.

The fundamentals of our economy are grrreat. The fundamentals of our government are also intact. It's awesome to see that this bill was able to pass on it's own ideological merit and sound judgment-- or after another 100+ billion in special earmarks/appropriations/pork-barrel-spending was added to it. Or maybe it was more due to the fear-mongering. As long as it passed!

Proud of both McCain and Obama for passing it. I'm sure it has nothing to do with their campaign supporters. (scroll down to see 'finance, insurance, and real-estate')

Whew! So glad that everything is fixed. Now we can continue to police the rest of the world and let our own people starve/freeze on our own streets. America has such a superb system that doesn't even allow banks and companies to become bankrupt when they behave like financial idiots -- isn't it great?

We came so close to a recession, remember? It was a close call, but I think now there's no question: we will avoid the recession that everyone has been debating for the last TWO YEARS that we had/have/will-have. Of course, a depression is out of the question - because if we band-aid recession issues, there's no way it can get that bad.

So if you couldn't tell, I'm writing facetiously ;)

It's like my dad always said: "Don't throw money at your problems". Now, that's hard to do every time - believe me. But when individuals live like the federal gov't or corporate America lives, they become bankrupt, homeless, or sent to prison. Oh it's going to be a 'fun' time in office for the next President...but at least he has a nice house, food on the table, and (in effect) a salary for life. Unless the dollar implodes, then you could call it an 'allowance'.
