There's only so much primping and pretty you can do in a weekend, so when we weren't doing the wedding we were playing! The Peterson grandkids go nuts over dirt and water at Grandpa's house. He let's them get into his pond (fish on one side, kids on the other), and even supplies them with buckets and scrap pieces of pond liner for their own homemade ponds. They sure get busy! Corrie (always verbal) usually directs, Oliver seems to always know the best way to build them (the strong worker) and the little ones, Mary and Lucy just run back and forth emptying pails of water.♥
A secret my mom told me... spraying a little Dawn dishsoap on mud spots helps them come out in the wash. Works! Even when you forget to do the laundry after you come back for like a week! :)

We also stopped at a little petting farm on the way back. Who can resist cute animals in baskets!
