learning and growing

Thank you to my dad for some lovely artwork on the red bookshelf... We've been using the side of the bookshelf to measure Corrie's height.  Now two sunflowers will help us chart the girls growth.  The one on the right with the butterfly is Corrie's and eventually when Mary will stand still long enough :) she will have the other flower.  It's amazing how much they're growing! 

...And learning!  Mary learned how to blow and is quite pleased with herself.  Here's a video of her blowing a whistle.  I love how she 'yells' at the whistle when it keeps falling.  Well, for now it's cute...

birthday pics

So I turned 3 a few days ago.. and some wonderful people chipped in to get me a big stand mixer  :)  I was actually surprised.  We're still working on the cake, so we've postponed the inaugural cookie mixing until we finish all this delicious chocolate cake!  You can tell it's good by the way that elephant is sinking.. Corrie and Mary also painted some scenes for behind the 'birthday chair' (a Peterson tradition of sorts).
